  • Product safety and conformity. Evidence that the device meets the electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and substance restrictions of the destination market. This is factory territory: CE and RoHS for the EU, PSE for Japan, FCC for the US, UKCA-related documentation for the UK.
  • Battery and transport documentation. For rechargeable models, shipping and storage of cells trigger their own paperwork, including safety data sheets and battery test summaries. Fulfilment centres may run a separate hazardous-goods review before a unit is accepted into inventory.
  • Regulatory identity and registration. Who is legally responsible for the product in that market, named on the packaging, and reachable by a regulator. In the EU and UK this has become a routine listing gate; producer registrations for packaging, batteries, and electrical waste sit alongside it.
  • Listing and labelling accuracy. Manuals, warnings, markings on the device and box, and claims made in the listing itself. This is where sellers most often trip themselves up, because it is the only bucket they fully author.

  • Print-ready packaging artwork showing every mark the destination market requires.

Where Do Sellers Most Often Get Caught?

  • Documents in the supplier’s name only. If you are the brand on the box, your regulatory position needs to be worked out with the factory before printing, not improvised during a suppression.
  • Claims the file does not support. Waterproof, medical-adjacent, or performance claims written by a copywriter and never checked against test evidence. If a device is rated IPX8, say IPX8; do not upgrade the story in the bullet points.
  • Market drift. A listing certified for the US expanded into the EU without reopening the certification question.
  • Model changes mid-programme. A different blade material or motor in a follow-up order can invalidate the paperwork you hold. Change control is a compliance function, not just a quality one.
